Blowing Rock, NC Wedding

January 25th, 2015

Caroline and Ben had THE PERFECT fall weekend for a Blowing Rock, NC wedding. The day began at Westglow Resort and Spa where Caroline got ready and Ben met her for their “first look”. We had time to create a few beautiful portraits as the rain stopped and clouds lifted before heading to Blowing Rock for the ceremony location, St. Mary’s of Hills Episcopal Church. Sam Addison of Air Haven Limousine transported the bride and groom in style driving the unforgettable Excalibur to the ceremony site as well as the reception held at Blowing Rock Country Club.. Flowers were provided by Park Place Florist of Blowing Rock. Caroline was especially happy with the flower covered chandeliers! The wedding was coordinated by Elizabeth Hemfling of Events by Elizabeth Ashley.  We loved being part of Caroline and Ben’s wedding day.

Celebrating the special milestone of the first birthday with the creation of a One Year Portrait is a wonderful way to not only create a lasting memory, but also a family heriloom. This Winston-Salen, NC portrait was created in late December – a perfect opportunity for our subject to wear this classic coat and hat set. Beautiful!

An October Blowing Rock, NC wedding!  Claire and Stephen were married on a chilly but beautiful fall day in Blowing Rock, NC at Blowing Rock Country Club. We loved being part of their gorgeous wedding day and are honored that they chose us to be their wedding photographers.  Claire was a beautiful bride and Stephen a handsome groom.  They are so suited for one another!
Megan Drake of The Elegant Event coordinated the day.

Family Portrait + Boone, NC

October 2nd, 2014

We took this family to one of our most favorite locations on the Blue Ridge Parkway to create their family portrait. Not only did we have a great time creating their portrait, we LOVED soaking up the amazing beauty of the fields of wild flowers and mountain scenery.

Baby Portraits + Boone, NC

October 2nd, 2014

Baby Portraits can be so awesome! We’ve created portraits of Jackson since he was tiny and in a wink of an eye he’s already turned two. Here’s what I love about this – we’re using a location that has sentimental value – Jackson’s grandfather’s magnificent gardens in Boone, NC (which are still under construction) and items that also have sentimental meaning. See the toy Jackson is playing with? It belonged to his dad! So cool.

Banner Elk Baby Portrait

September 6th, 2014

We created Ainsley’s first year portrait at her home in Matney, NC near Banner Elk. We love creating “on location” portraits because it gives us the amazing opportunity to create portraits in meaningful locations. When Ainsley is all grown up she’ll be able to see where she lived as a baby!
We had used the antique suitcase in her newborn and 6 month session so this was the grand finale! The red rocking chair belonged Ainsley’s grandmother and all the Dr. Seuss books were Blaine’s when he was a boy. We love incorporating items in the portrait that have such strong sentimental value. Ainsley is absolutely adorable.
