Twickenham House Wedding with Andrea and Anders
Twickenham House Wedding – Twickenham House is one of the most elegant and versatile wedding venues in the High Country. Located just 20 miles from Boone and 3 miles from West Jefferson, it is convenient to everything you need for a successful wedding weekend. It’s also a perfect location for a destination wedding since there is a guest house on site and plenty of room for the wedding party. Twickenham House can accommodate over 40 overnight guests. Andrea and Anders came from Nashville for their gorgeous Fall destination wedding. The day was beautiful from start to finish!
Moderate Climate Ideal for Summer and Fall Weddings
At 4600′ in elevation, Twickenham House is the perfect wedding venue for summer and fall weddings. The days are clear and temperatures moderate. In summer, the High Country daytime temperature average in the mid 70’s. Nights are cool and crisp. Plan on needing a jacket or wrap at night. The High Country is situated in what’s known as a micro-climate and our weather patterns are most like that of Coastal New England, hundreds of miles away. It’s sort of weird to drive just 30 miles away into a completely different weather situation but it makes us feel pretty lucky. Andrea and Anders couldn’t have had better weather for their wedding day. It was perfect. The leaves had turned, creating a stunning backdrop.
Elegant Manor House
Twickenham House was built in 1999 in the style of a grand English Manor House. It has over 11,000 square feet of beautifully decorated rooms perfect for any wedding activity. Andrea got ready in the Bridal Suite which was spacious and gorgeous. We were able to create images of Anders and his groomsmen relaxing as they waited for the day to unfold. That’s a groom’s job – hurry up and WAIT. Soft and beautiful window light in the upstairs hallway enhanced the portraits we created of Andrea. A Twickenham House Wedding is truly a photographer’s dream with so many photogenic locations both inside the Manor House as well as the 400 acres of manicured and natural landscape options.
All of the pre-wedding preparations of getting ready and the emotion-filled exchange of gifts took place in the main house. After a picturesque wedding on the lawn, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the back patio and then moved to the reception hall which is just a short walk up the drive. Sunset portraits of Anders and Andrea were created at the cliff overlook – a short drive from the reception hall. Phoenix Mountain is known as the “Rocky Mountains of the East” because of the 1.6-mile cliff face. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for the most gorgeous wedding portraits possible.
