Held at the Moses Cone Estate on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Portraits on the Parkway – Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation… Last month, Burton Photography held its 12th annual Portraits on the Parkway 2017 mini-session event.  It was a week full of high energy, smiles, old friends, new friends and lots of beautiful portraits!  A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.  The Moses Cone Estate and Flat Top Manor are undergoing necessary maintenance and restoration and are in need of funds. We love walking the miles of carriage trails and we have many favorite portrait locations on the estate and are happy to host this event each year. We are thrilled to invest in the preservation of this fantastic resource in our community.

Portraits on the Parkway for Children Ages 5-18 Years Old

Jonathan and I love to create portraits of children of ALL ages but this event is geared specifically towards school-aged kids 5 to 18 years old. With only 10 minutes to create an amazing portrait, we have to work very quickly with children mature enough to follow directions quickly and easily separate from their parents. While Portraits on the Parkway is an absolute blast, we LOVE to have more time…choice of location…perfect time of day to create portraits. All of those are possible with a full-length portrait session where we have the opportunity to be really thoughtful and creative. See examples of our children portraits HERE. All that said, we are always so excited to shoot almost 50 sessions over the course of several afternoons/evenings. It is exhilarating!!! Portraits on the Parkway – Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation are two things that go together like milk and honey, sunshine and blue skies, April showers and May flowers.
