Portraits on the Parkway 2024
Thanks for your interest in our 19th edition of Portraits on the Parkway. Held at the historic Moses Cone Estate on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Portraits on the Parkway is our annual portrait event designed exclusively for busy parents seeking beautiful portraits of their school-aged children (5-18 years old).
Your registration fee of $195 secures your portrait session and doubles as a credit towards your portrait purchase at your in-person ordering appointment. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from this event supports the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.

Portraits on the Parkway FAQ
How long is each session?
Portraits on the Parkway is a fast-paced event. We'll have twelve minutes to complete your session and create the portraits we hope you'll love.
Can I have my children photographed individually and together?
Absolutely! We'll photograph a solo subject OR a group of siblings during a session. For example, if you have two children and you'd like individual portraits and portraits of them together, sign up for three sessions.
How will I see proofs from the session?
You'll have your own private ordering appointment at our residential studio to choose your favorites and decide how you'd like to enjoy your finished art. We are experts at guiding you through this process so there's no stress. You'll register for an ordering appointment separately from the event.
What happens if the weather is terrible on the day of my session?
The weather is very changeable in the High Country. We'll contact you by 3 pm on the day of your session if we think the forecast is dismal. We don't need "perfect" weather to create beautiful portraits. There are wonderful sheltered areas where we can work. If we aren't able to complete your session, we'll schedule a make-up at a mutually agreeable time.
What should my child wear?
After you've registered, you'll receive guidance that will help you prepare for Portraits on the Parkway.
