With our studio just 1.5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we have the unique opportunity of living and working in one of the most beautiful places on planet Earth. There are wonderful opportunities to create stunning images of the Blue Ridge Mountains in all seasons of the year. As part of the Appalachian Mountains which begin in Georgia at Springer Mountain and stretch all the way to Mount Katahdin in Maine, the Blue Ridge Mountains in the High Country present a micro-climate that is most similar to New England. We enjoy cool summer days and cold, snowy winters.
At 469 miles, the Blue Ridge Parkway is America's longest park and is the most visited of all the National Parks. Land on either side of the Parkway is maintained by the National Park Service and in additional, bordering land is frequently part of a conservancy trust keeping it pristine. The Blue Ridge Mountains of the High Country are truly a nature lover's delight with miles of hiking trails to be explored.
As an added bonus, the Moses Cone Estate is located at mile post 294 of the Blue Ridge Parkway and offers over 3500 acres of forests, meadows, and lakes. Winding through the estate are 26 miles of carriage trails for walking or horseback riding. Built at the turn of the 20th century by a textile entrepreneur, the estate was donated to the parkway in 1949. The beautiful manor house, once a summer home, is now an arts and crafts center and a very popular stopping place on the parkway.
Hardwood trees that blaze with color in the fall contrast with fields and meadows of gorgeous wildflowers in spring and summer. Moss-covered rocky streams and cascading waterfalls are abundant. Snow covered ridges and evergreen rhododendron in winter provide endless possibilities for creating beautiful scenic images.
Familiar ridge profiles such as Grandfather Mountain, Table Rock, Elk Knob, Hawksbill are just some of the well known peaks represented in this gallery.
It's no wonder that people desire a reminder of the stunning beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains displayed in their homes and offices. We create prints on canvas, metal and fine art paper for our clients who value the high quality of our creations. Let us know what speaks to your heart!
